Huangpu ranks 1st in innovation investment in Guangzhou

The Guangzhou Urban Innovation Index Report (2022) was released on March 3.

The index report has monitored and evaluated the changes in innovation and development in Guangzhou since 2010. It evaluates the scientific and technological innovation level of 11 administrative districts in Guangzhou from 10 core indicators.

Huangpu district attaches great importance to innovation investment and human resource reserves. In 2021, Huangpu's score for the number of R&D researchers per 10,000 employees was 100 points, ranking first among all districts in Guangzhou.

The district's score for financial technology expenditure also ranks first among the 11 districts, and its proportion of R&D expenditure to GDP ranks first in Guangzhou.

Huangpu's enterprise innovation performance and innovation efficiency are outstanding. Its scores for the number of high-tech enterprises per 10,000 employees and its labor productivity are 100 points, while its score for the proportion of high-tech industries and patent output are 99.86 points and 94.71 points, respectively.

Huangpu's innovation environment is superior. The construction of its index of innovation platforms ranks second in the city, and the construction of its index of incubation and cultivation systems ranks first.
