Huangpu-based industrial sci-tech park selected as national pilot

The Biomedicine and New Mobility Future Industrial Science and Technology Park, the first future industrial sci-tech park in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, was recently selected as a pilot zone for industrial science and technology.

The core start-up area of this park is located in Guangzhou International Bio Island and Guangzhou University Town.

By 2025, the park will introduce and cultivate no less than 15 high-end technology talents and innovation teams and incubate no less than 20 leading high-tech enterprises.

In 2030, the park will form two to three industrial clusters, and introduce as well as cultivate no less than 40 high-end technology talents and innovation teams. 

By 2035, it will strive to construct and open four to five future industrial sci-tech parks in the Greater Bay Area and build multiple future industrial clusters.

Among them, Guangzhou International Bio Island will focus on gene diagnosis and treatment, electronic medical health, and other fields, as well as build a future biomedical industry sci-tech park.

To date, bio island has gathered more than 500 biomedical enterprises, including eight Fortune Global 500 projects, four listed company headquarters, and 36 medicine clinical institutions.

In the past five years since its establishment, the amount of technical achievements transformed by bio island laboratories has exceeded 100 million yuan ($14 billion), and the number of incubation enterprises has exceeded 10.
