In recent years, Huangpu has invested 600 million yuan ($85 million) in carrying out the micro-renovation of old residential areas. Some 99 such projects have now been launched in the district, coupled with the micro-transformation of one ancient village.
Huangpu has completed 67 of these micro-renovation projects, benefiting about 30,000 households and 90,000 people, 53 community public spaces, and 40,000 square meters of green area, helping senior communities, making residents' lives more comfortable, and continuously improving their health and wellbeing.
In addition, the district provided subsidies of 150,000 yuan ($21,000) to help install elevators in multi-story houses with seven or more floors. Meanwhile, subsidies totaling 35.55 million yuan have been distributed to add elevators to 237 residential areas, benefiting more than 10,000 households.
Moreover, Huangpu has spent 18.22 million yuan to fully renovate the water supply facilities for 2,432 households lacking good property management in the district.
