Guangzhou COVID-19 Update for November 1, 2022

On November 1, 2022, Guangzhou reported 73 locally-acquired cases, among which, 30 were found among people under centralized quarantine, 41 were found among people under mandatory home quarantine, one was found among people in a high-risk area, and one was found in district-wide PCR testing. Guangzhou also reported 253 locally-acquired asymptomatic cases, among which, 101 were found among people under centralized quarantine, 149 were found among people under mandatory home quarantine, and three were found in district-wide PCR testing. Besides, 12 previously reported locally-acquired asymptomatic cases were changed to confirmed cases. The above 326 patients have already been transferred to designated hospitals for isolation and treatment and are in stable condition. Their close contacts have been placed under centralized quarantine, and key sites have been controlled. In addition, Guangzhou reported six imported confirmed cases and 13 imported asymptomatic cases.

As of 24:00, November 1, 2022, a total of 10,249 positive cases have been reported in the city. These include 4,783 confirmed cases (2,710 imported cases and 2,073 locally-acquired cases), among which, 811 cases are still being treated in the hospital. There are 5,466 asymptomatic cases (3,599 imported cases and 1,867 locally-acquired cases), among which, 1,492 cases are still under medical observation.

Jianshe Subdistrict: PCR Testing Site at Damalu Community.

Liwan District

Nanyuan Subdistrict: Yuanxi 10th Lane;

Dongsha Subdistrict: 6th Lane, Xishe Fang, Nanjiao Community.

Details of the Six Imported Confirmed Cases and 13 Imported Asymptomatic Cases

The six imported confirmed cases are travellers from Singapore (3), Cambodia (1), Kuwait (1), and Myanmar (1). The 13 imported asymptomatic cases are travellers from the Republic of Korea (3), Oman (2), Malaysia (2), Canada (1), Indonesia (1), Pakistan (1), Singapore (1), Japan (1), and Laos (1).

Upon their arrival in Guangzhou, all the imported confirmed and asymptomatic cases were transferred to hotels for centralized quarantine. They tested positive for COVID-19 during quarantine and were transferred to designated hospitals for isolation and treatment.
