Guangzhou COVID-19 Update for October 31

On October 31, 2022, Guangzhou reported 190 locally-acquired cases, among which, 70 were found among people under centralized quarantine, 112 were found among people under mandatory home quarantine, eight were found among people in medium- and high-risk areas. Guangzhou also reported 289 locally-acquired asymptomatic cases, among which, 102 were found among people under centralized quarantine, 169 were found among people under mandatory home quarantine, 12 were found in medium- and high-risk areas, one was found in district-wide PCR testing, and five were found among people with high exposure risk under closed-loop management. The above 479 patients have already been transferred to designated hospitals for isolation and treatment and are in stable condition. Their close contacts have been placed under centralized quarantine and key sites have been controlled. In addition, Guangzhou reported one imported confirmed case and four imported asymptomatic cases.

As of 24:00 October 31, 2022, a total of 9,904 positive cases have been reported in the city. These include 4,692 confirmed cases (2,704 imported cases and 1,988 locally-acquired cases), among which, 732 cases are still being treated in hospital; and 5,212 asymptomatic cases (3,586 imported cases and 1,626 locally-acquired cases), among which, 1,290 cases are still under medical observation.

Caihong Subdistrict: Hefu Supermarket (Zhoumen North Road Branch); No.25, Zhoumen North Road;

Jinhua Subdistrict: Guangzhou Yueshangshi Catering Co., Ltd.; Block B, Jinxin Mansion, Sanfu Community; Jinhua New Market; Freshhema (Ximenkou Plaza Branch);

Hualin Subdistrict: No.8, Guanyinzhi Street; Baohua Meat and Vegetables Market;

Duobao Subdistrict: Yipinxian Noodle Soup (Duobao Road Branch).

Zengcheng District

Ningxi Subdistrict: Guangzhou Lear Automotive Parts Co., Ltd. and AEON MALL (Guangzhou Xintang Shopping Center);

Licheng Subdistrict: Jinxiu Yujingyuan Phase II and Phase III;
Xintang Town: Building E, Aoyuan Kangwei Plaza; PCR Testing Site at Tangmei Village Committee.

Conghua District

Taiping Town: No.89, Pingshan Division 2, Gaotian Village.

Baiyun District

Songzhou Subdistrict: Wangjiang Building, No.241, Xizhou North Road.

Panyu District

Details of the One Imported Confirmed Case and Four Imported Asymptomatic Cases

The one imported confirmed case is a traveller from the United Arab Emirates. The four imported asymptomatic cases are travellers from Kenya (1), the United Arab Emirates (1), France (1) and Cambodia (1).

Upon their arrival in Guangzhou, all the imported confirmed and asymptomatic cases were transferred to hotels for centralized quarantine. They tested positive for COVID-19 during quarantine and were transferred to Guangzhou No. 8 People's Hospital for isolation and treatment.

Due to COVID-19 containment requirements, if you have been to the key site in Jinzhou Market (Jinsha Road), Nansha Subdistrict, Nansha District, from 15:40 on October 29 to 24:00 on October 31, please report to your village (community) committee or Nansha Subdistrict (hotline: 020-84989923) immediately and take three PCR tests within three days at a nearby testing facility. You will also need to undergo health administration measures as required by your community and the local CDC.
