Guangzhou COVID-19 Update for October 30

On October 30, 2022, Guangzhou reported 232 locally-acquired cases, among which, 133 were found among people under centralized quarantine, 85 were found among people under mandatory home quarantine, 11 were found among people in medium- and high-risk areas, one was found in district-wide PCR testing, one was found in a fever clinic, and one was found among travellers to Guangzhou from another province. Guangzhou also reported 295 locally-acquired asymptomatic cases, among which, 159 were found among people under centralized quarantine, 102 were found among people under mandatory home quarantine, 31 were found in medium- and high-risk areas, one was found in district-wide PCR testing, one was found in a fever clinic and one was found among people with high exposure risk. The above 527 patients have already been transferred to designated hospitals for isolation and treatment and are in stable condition. Their close contacts have been placed under centralized quarantine and key sites have been controlled. In addition, Guangzhou reported two imported confirmed cases and seven imported asymptomatic cases.

As of 24:00 October 30, 2022, a total of 9,420 positive cases have been reported in the city. These include 4,501 confirmed cases (2,703 imported cases and 1,798 locally-acquired cases), among which, 552 cases are still being treated in hospital; and 4,919 asymptomatic cases (3,582 imported cases and 1,337 locally-acquired cases), among which, 1,040 cases are still under medical observation.

Baiyun District

Songzhou Subdistrict: Longjun Square (Guoxiaoge Fruit Store, Yihetang, Longjun Department Store); Yitong International Liquor Kind Exchange Center, No. 29, Chalongtianshu Street; Buildings B and C, Shuanglong Building; Building C, Jiangnan Shuihui (south building); Xufuqing Trading Firm, Zengcha Road; Xintiancheng Oil and Grain Food Wholesale Center; the 2nd Road in Chalong Fruit Market.

Jiahe Subdistrict: Jixiang Apartment (Jiahe Branch), Xinxingwang Supermarket (Xincun Branch), Yingzhou Fast Food Restaurant, Xiaxincun Street; the PCR testing site at Exit D of Jiahewanggang Station, Woqu Apartment (Jiahewanggang Huihe Branch)

Details of the Two Imported Confirmed Cases and Seven Imported Asymptomatic Cases

The two imported confirmed cases are travelers from Mongolia (1) and Malaysia (1); The seven imported asymptomatic cases are travelers from Japan (2), Kyrgyzstan (1), Sri Lanka (1), Myanmar (1), the United Arab Emirates (1), and Malaysia (1).

Upon their arrival in Guangzhou, all the imported confirmed and asymptomatic cases were transferred to hotels for centralized quarantine. They tested positive for COVID-19 during quarantine and were transferred to Guangzhou No. 8 People's Hospital for isolation and treatment.
