In August 2020, the State Council approved the Overall Development Plan for China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) (2020-35).
It gave CSGKC a national mission for constructing a new hub for knowledge creation, a free port for international talents, an area of innovation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as well as a demonstration zone of openness and cooperation.
Within two years, it has attracted a growing number of key laboratories, with more than 100 scientists and 1,260 high-level talents having settled down here, while a number of leading companies like Yuexin and Kangfang Bio settled in Huangpu.
In 2021, a total of 89 CSGKC projects have been completed and put into trial production, with an output value of over 170 billion yuan ($24.9 billion).
Renowned for its beautiful environment, CSGKC has become an emerging part of east Guangzhou that integrates intelligent services and is fueled by innovation.
