IP service hall starts operation in CSGKC

The plaque unveiling ceremony of the international intellectual property service hall in China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City takes place on April 25.

The international intellectual property service hall of China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) unveiled its plaque on April 25 during a local promotion event marking the 22nd World Intellectual Property Day, which fell on April 26.

Eleven global IP service institutions have settled in the hall. In addition, the hall has carried out business cooperation with 28 other institutions from home and abroad, providing professional services in IP information checking, consultation, as well as agency application. 

Plaques for a Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC) and a Public Service and Exhibition Base under the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) were also unveiled that day.

The TISC is a cooperation project under WIPO's framework that was initiated in 2009. It aims to offer high-quality technological information and relevant services for innovators in developing countries, helping them create, apply, protect, as well as manage IP.

The number of granted patents in Huangpu district climbed by 60.7 percent year-on-year to 5,464 in 2021, while the amount of brands registered totaled 27,345, up 58.5 percent. The number of global patent applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty in Huangpu last year was 711, ranking first in Guangzhou.
