Chuangxin Avenue section opens to traffic

The 5.93-kilometer Zhongtai Express Road-Zhishi Avenue section of Chuangxin Avenue that runs through China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) has recently opened to traffic.

Chuangxin Avenue is a south-north arterial road, which connects the industrial clusters of CSGKC, Changlingju, Guangzhou Science City, Changzhou Island and Guangzhou International Bio Island in Guangzhou's Huangpu district.

The design of the thoroughfare highlights the concept of a "Sponge City". In addition to sunken greenbelts and rainwater gardens, its sidewalks and non-motorized vehicle lanes are paved with pervious concrete. The control rate of annual storm water runoff is now 70 percent.

Construction of the Chuangxin Avenue adopts a great deal of advanced technology such as building information modeling, which is a holistic process of creating and managing information for a built asset. The technology allows the builder to avoid potential pipeline collision and complete construction in a shorter period of time.
