The teachers' apartment at Xidian University's Guangzhou Institute of Technology has recently been topped off in the Scientific and Educational Innovation Zone of China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC).
With a total floorage of 310,000 square meters, the research institute will be comprised of a conference center, dormitory buildings, an academic exchange center, a scientific and technological information center, teaching, administrative and research areas, sports facilities, and an activity center.
Focusing on new-generation information technology, the institute is expected to become a demonstration base for industry-academia integration and cultivate more than 2,000 postgraduate and doctoral students.

Meanwhile, Guangzhou University's Huangpu research institute will begin construction on Nov 5. It will have a total floor area of 393,000 sq m for classrooms, labs, a library, office areas, dormitories, a canteen, an auditorium and an academic exchange center.
The Guangdong University of Foreign Studies will launch the construction of its Huangpu research institute next year with a total floorage of 391,500 sqm for dormitories and lab and office buildings as well as spaces for scientific research and transformation.
According to the Overall Development Plan for the CSGKC Scientific and Educational Innovation Zone (2020-35), the area will bring in 14 high-end research institutions from home and abroad.
