The institutions of higher education in China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) received more than 1,000 freshmen for fall semester this month.
In addition to autonomous driving buses, there were 40 Robotaxi pick-up sites that provided commuting services for students from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
As a precaution for the COVID-19 pandemic, the students had to have body temperatures taken, travel history examined, luggage and hands disinfected and facial masks changed at entrances of institutions. Moreover, the institutions have also arranged nucleic acid testing.

In total, the CSGKC's Scientific and Educational Zone plans to bring in 14 scientific research institutions, of which five have settled.
The Huangpu Research Institute of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies welcomed about 500 students majoring in law or advanced translation.
The Huangpu Research Institute of Guangzhou University welcomed more than 140 students majoring in cyberspace security, information and communication engineering, electronic science and technology, electronic information, materials and chemical engineering, machinery, transportation, civil engineering and water conservancy.
More than 500 students at the Guangzhou Research Institute of Xidian University are majoring in electronic information, machinery, electronic science and technology, information and communication engineering, control science and engineering, computer science and technology, cyberspace security, and business administration.
