Guangzhou Daily: Nanotechnological innovation competition opens registration

Registration for the Nano Industry Technological Innovation Professional Competition opened on Sept 2 and will last until Sept 15.

The competition is the highest level of its kind in China's nano science and technology sector. Its predecessor was the Nano Star innovation and entrepreneurship competition before being included into the 10th China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition this year.

The event will push forward the achievement transformation, innovation and entrepreneurship of the nano sci-tech sector, which covers functional nanomaterials, nano device manufacturing, third-generation semiconductors, nano optoelectronics, nano analysis and detection, nano biology and medicine, nano clean environmental protection, and nano energy technology.

Participants will be divided into two groups, which are the start-up group and the growing enterprise group, and go through three rounds of face-offs. First, second and third prize winners will receive a reward of 500,000 yuan ($77,500), 250,000 and 150,000 yuan, respectively, if their projects settle in Huangpu.

National Nanotechnology Innovation Research Institute of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will handle the competition with the support of the Guangzhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone Administrative Committee and the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology.
