The Huangpu Campus of Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center is the first 3A-grade (the highest of China's three-tier grading system) hospital in China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City.
The hospital focuses on tumor prevention and treatment, while also engaging in other medical services, scientific research and teaching. It has departments specializing in head and neck, chest, liver, colorectum, gastric surgery, urinary surgery, breast, internal medicine, radiotherapy, nasopharynx, hematopoietic malignancy, bone and soft tissue tumor, and interventional therapy, among others.

Costing 894.2 million yuan ($138 million), the first phase of the project covers 75 mu (5 hectares) and features a floor area of 104,828 square meters. It is offering around 600 patient beds during the initial stage. In addition, the hospital will also encompass a South China key laboratory for oncology (including an animal experiment center), a national clinical trial and research center for new drugs, and a logistics service center.
