The first overseas cooperative education project of the Singapore Hwa Chong family of schools will begin enrollment in April 2021 and open next fall with the approval of the Huangpu district education bureau.
Located in China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, the school will encompass teaching, administrative, and dormitory buildings, a black box theater, a gymnasium, a natatorium, as well as a football field. It will offer a 12-year education program covering primary, junior high, and senior high courses.

The school's Bilingual Department will open next year, providing China's nine-year compulsory education to Guangzhou residents. Mandarin will be the primary teaching language, which will be supplemented by English teaching elements.
The International Department will open to children of foreign expats by 2022, and offer international baccalaureate (IB) courses spanning from primary school to senior high school. Singapore's IB curriculum teaching methods will be adapted to local students' learning conditions.
Hwa Chong International School will send three officials to assume office in Huangpu for at least two years. The teachers may also be assigned to each other's schools for short-term exchanges, while students may have one-month cultural exchanges during holiday periods.
