With a focus on technological innovation and market demand, and based on a foundation of regional industrial development, the Guangzhou Development District promotes the development of a new material industry system led by electronic information materials, new energy materials, biomedical materials, energy-saving and environmentally-friendly materials, and their integration with biology, automobiles, engineering machinery, electronic information and other industries. The goal is to build the Guangzhou Development District into a well-known national innovation base for new materials, and to achieve an output value of more than 100 billion yuan in the new materials industry by 2020.
