Also emphasized are introducing high-end medical service resources and encouraging the development of health care, leisure, and health management services, as well as introducing high-end health service institutions and promoting personalized diagnosis and treatment services. These priorities should promote a new type of service for the aged.

In the biomedical industry, the Guangzhou Development District introduced GE, BeiGene, The Scripps Research Institute and other industry leaders, and cooperated with the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory which cultivated eight Nobel Prize winners to build a research institute and a scientific and technological achievements transformation center and to form a complete industrial ecological chain covering production, learning, research and usage.
