The research institute of Guangzhou University (GZHU) in Guangzhou Development District (GDD), which is being jointly built by GZHU and GDD, started construction on May 28.
Located in China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC), the research institute will cover an overall building area of more than 300,000 square meters.
It will focus on the discipline construction, talent cultivation, and technological innovation in five areas, namely computer science and technology, cyberspace security, artificial intelligence and blockchain, information and communication engineering, as well as smart transportation and smart engineering.
It is expected that the first batch of 500 postgraduates of GZHU will settle in the research institute in September this year and that the number of people in the institute will reach 5,000 when the second phase of the institute is put into operation.
