Nanfang Plus: GDD wins praise for entrepreneurship, innovation outcomes by State Council

The General Office of the State Council announced 30 incentive support measures on May 8 for a list of 213 areas that have achieved great outcomes in implementing national major policies in China last year.

Guangzhou Science City in Guangzhou Development District (GDD) has been included on the list for the second year for its achievements in developing entrepreneurship and innovation.

Financial support will be given to the construction of entrepreneurship and innovation platforms in GDD, while local entrepreneurship and innovation projects meeting certain requirements can receive priority in carrying out matchmaking opportunities with national supportive funds.

Outcomes in entrepreneurship and innovation made by GDD can receive priority in being displayed at the main venue at the National Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week.

GDD has been a pioneer in China in the reform of administrative examination and approval processes, service of policy fulfillment, as well as the utilization and protection of intellectual property rights by releasing a variety of preferential policies.

At present, Guangzhou Science city has been accelerating its construction of a national pilot zone for the reform and innovation of business environments. It is expected that the area will achieve great changes by 2023.
