Nanfang Daily: Huangpu supports individual business development

Guangzhou's Huangpu district has released a total of 27 measures in supporting individual business to resume operation and production following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Nanfang Daily reported on May 7.

The measures have covered five areas, such as lowering operation costs and enhancing service guarantees, benefiting nearly 60,000 individual business operators.

At present, more than 95 percent of the individual businesses have resumed operation in Huangpu district.

The Huangpu market regulation bureau has guided the local catering industry to launch online delivery service to deal with the difficulties in offline operation.

Non-contract service has been promoted in the district by using a WeChat mini program to conduct registration of individual businesses, as well as the free post service to deliver certificates to individual business operators.

Local owners reducing rent for individual business operators for more than two months can receive a tax exemption.

Those businesses hiring workers participating in the social insurance system can be exempted from the cost of endowment insurance, unemployment insurance, as well as occupational injury insurance from February to June this year.

Huangpu has been a pioneer in Guangdong province in offering rewards to individual business that has successfully upgraded to become a company with a reward of 30,000 yuan ($4,237.13).
