Xinkuai Bao: Huangpu's trademark registration volume exceeds 10,000 for first time

The number of invention patent applications made by Huangpu companies reached 8,738 in 2019, while the number of authorized invention patents amounted to 2,673, Xinkuai Bao reported on March 25.

The number of applied and authorized invention patents by Huangpu companies have each accounted for 29.9 percent and 39.4 percent of the total amount in Guangzhou, making Huangpu an important driver for the innovation-driven development of the city.

Huangpu has launched a series of preferential policies in boosting intellectual property development in recent years, such as recognizing IP from Hong Kong and Macao.

Efforts have also been made in helping local companies to create IP and a total of 1,381 IP pieces have been made in 2019.

Work stations on IP service have been set up in 21 local companies, such as Guangzhou Shiyuan Electronic Technology Co Ltd, becoming a platform for communication between companies and patent examination departments.
