Nanfang Daily: Huangpu sets up additional funds for coronavirus fight

The finance bureau of Guangzhou's Huangpu district has set up a special fund of 20 million yuan ($2.86 million) to guarantee financial support for epidemic prevention, the Nanfang Daily reported on Feb 2.

Half of the fund is scheduled for the district's health bureau to purchase supplies such as medicine and equipment. The rest will be used for local communities to carry out measures in areas like law enforcement, supervision, visits and investigations.

The bureau has arranged staff members on duty to examine and approve the expenses quickly. Green channels have been opened by local banks to make sure the funds for epidemic prevention and control can be implemented in time.
