Guangzhou's Huangpu district, also known as Guangzhou Development District (GDD), plans to strengthen communication and cooperation with nearby cities and administrative regions in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, according to a local working conference held on Dec 6.
GDD will further promote its achievements made in its cooperation with Shenzhen's Qianhai and Shekou Area, part of the Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ), in areas spanning financial opening up and innovation, talent management innovation, as well as investment and trade convenience.
GDD will team with Shenzhen's Bao'an district to build a demonstration area for the coordinated development of advanced manufacturing and reach deep integration in areas spanning the new generation of information technology, high-end smart equipment, new materials, and blockchain.
In addition, GDD will promote its cooperation with its neighboring city Dongguan. Efforts will be devoted to build a one-hour transportation circle in the Greater Bay Area, including the construction of a tunnel connecting Huangpu and Mayong in Dongguan going through the Pearl River.
