Huafeng Temple

Huafeng Temple is located in Hefeng village of Huangpu district. It is not only a Buddhist holy place, but also a revolutionary base and a tourist attraction. Huafeng Temple (also known as Haimen Temple) is located in Huafeng Mountain, Yonghe Hefeng village, Huangpu district. It was built during the Renxu year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing dynasty (1682 AD) and was originally a famous Lingnan Buddhist temple.

According to historical records, the temple occupied more than 40,000 square meters and a total construction area of more than 5,600 square meters during its heyday. The building was magnificent and beautiful, just like a "fairyland", so attracted many tourists. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, it was destroyed. Only a depositary of Buddhist texts and some relics remain. On the arch over the gateway, there is a board engraved with "Haimen Temple" and on the east side there is a depositary of intact Buddhist texts. The site is regarded as a Buddhist resort by local people and believers in the Pearl River Delta region.
