Guangzhou Daily: Greater Bay Area Internet, Shipping Innovation Alliance established

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Internet Shipping Innovation Alliance was established in Guangzhou Science City in Guangzhou's Huangpu district during the 2019 Huangpu Conference for "Internet + Shipping" in the Greater Bay Area, which was held from Nov 28 to 29.

The alliance was launched by 27 leading companies and functional mechanisms in transportation innovation, such as Guangdong E-Port Management Co Ltd, aiming to promote cooperation between the shipping industry and digital industries, spanning internet, cloud computing, big data, blockchain, and fintech.

Guangdong E-Port, Guangzhou E-Port, and Brio Electronic Commerce Limited from Hong Kong signed a contract to carry out cross-border declaration between Guangdong and Hong Kong, which is expected to greatly simplify declaration processes and improve operation efficiency. 

The cross-border declaration platform has allowed companies on the Chinese mainland to make online declarations directly to Hong Kong customs. The operation of the platform is expected to lower declaration expenses for companies and shorten customs processing time.

Guangzhou E-Port also signed a cooperation agreement in foreign trade financial service projects with banks including Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Citic Bank, and China Everbright Bank, as well as with insurance institutions like Pingan Insurance.

Guangzhou E-Port will make full use of big data to provide characteristic services spanning foreign exchange settlement, trade financing, export credit insurance, and customs guarantee insurance to support the development of new trade forms at Guangzhou Port and to establish a convenient business environment.
