German tech giant Siemens AG started construction of its most advanced factory for the production of distribution transformers in Guangzhou’s Huangpu district and the Guangzhou Development District in South China’s Guangdong province on Nov 8.
The new factory, scheduled to begin operation in 2021, will apply the Industrie 4.0 standard and become a Siemens model factory in the global market.
As an important node in the multinational firm’s distribution transformer R & D and manufacturing network, the factory will provide high-end products and solutions for its customers.
“It will grow into a model intelligent manufacturing factory of Siemens in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and will drive the digital transformation and upgrading of the traditional manufacturing industry in the region,” said Wang Jianlei, an executive in charge of the high voltage transmission division of Simens China’s gas and power arm.
Meanwhile, the new factory will focus on automation, replacing repetitive labor with machines. As visualization is the core of informatization in manufacturing the application system software, which uses 3D modeling technology, can reduce errors and improve data transparency so as to better find problems. The new technology brings a factory of the future to life in a vivid and visual way.
