The Guangzhou Development District Investment Promotion Skills Competition was held in Guangzhou Science City on Aug 20.
The event gathered 16 competitors from the investment promotion department of the district, State-owned enterprises and investment promotion companies to show their skills by presenting information about Guangzhou Development District(GDD) and examples of investment promotion cases and by a Q$A session.
Professional judges from government, enterprises and a personal presentation association graded them according to their speech content, presentation skills, PowerPoint-making and on-site response ability.

After four hours of competition, Li Qingbo from the investment promotion center of the GDD and Guan Haowen from Guangzhou Science City won first prizes, and Zheng Guokai from Guangzhou Lianguan Investment Group, Zhu Jia from Industrial Fund Investment Group of the GDD and Fu Min from CDC Group won second prizes.

Guan Haowen, an overseas returnee, presented the environment for innovation and startups in the development zone and shared the investment case of introducing the world's top 500 enterprise Amer International Group as an illustration of the efficiency and special service of the GDD.
Another first prize winner, Li Qingbo, used a passionate and humorous way to introduce the advantages of the GDD by presenting many enterprise cases.

Peter Helis, global investment director of Huangpu district and the GDD remarked on the competitors’performances. He said that the enterprises that have already settled down the republicize the district and would be more helpful in attracting investors.
The purpose of the event was to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the GDD.
In recent years, the district, with an eye on the opportunities of the Belt and Road Initiative and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, has used talents to achieve integration of technology, industry, market and capital.
It has gathered more than 60,000 domestic and overseas enterprises. Its actual utilization of foreign capital has ranked first in the city for more than 20 years, and ranked in the top three of national development districts for five consecutive years.
