Xinkuai Bao: 800-year-old Yuyan Academy reopens for visits

The Yuyan Academy, an academy of classical learning with 800 years of history, in Huangpu district, Guangzhou city of South China's Guangdong province, opened to the public on May 4 after five years of closure for repairs.

The organizer arranged many ancient experience-based activities, including the throwing pot game during the opening. The throwing pot game was played by ancient scholars during a feast, and involved a kind of etiquette.

To give visitors a deeper understanding of the history of the Yuyan Academy, the organizers held lectures on the classics related to the academy and Chinese studies.
