Recruitment fair opens in Huangpu

The 2019 recruitment fair of Huangpu district was open on Feb 27. In this first recruitment fair of the year nearly 250 companies provided 6,000 jobs.

Accordingly, the district plans to arrange 90 job fairs in 2019 to build a platform for enterprises. As of 2018, the number of migrant workers in Huangpu was 986,200, an increase of 9.23 percent over the same period of the previous year.

Among them, the number of undergraduates with bachelor's degree was 10.51 million, an increase of 10.22 percent over the same period last year, and a further 8,600 had a degree higher than a bachelor's, an increase of 22.56 percent over the same period last year.

"The (population) growth rate is still very large; the regional development, urbanization progress, and linkage development has brought countless opportunities. The presence of a large number of enterprises has made Huangpu a livable and suitable place for business," said Li Xionghui, director of the Huangpu District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.

In the past two years, major projects have frequently settled in Huangpu, providing a large number of jobs. In 2018, Huangpu introduced 138 major projects such as the PNP Vertical Accelerator, Carl Zeiss and Lonza, with a total investment of over 200 billion yuan($29.64 billion).

At the beginning of this year, 23 major projects landed in Huangpu, which will provide a considerable number of jobs in the future.

In addition, Huangpu is making every effort to promote the construction of a "Guangdong Provincial Business Environment Reform and Innovation Experimental Zone". In order to facilitate the processing of talents, it undertakes to help obtain not only permits for foreigners to work in China, but also approvals of "Guangzhou talent green cards".
