Upon entering the market in Nandan county, Hechi, one may observe several stalls presenting carefully arranged pumpkin flowers, distinguished by their resplendent golden colors amidst a wide array of vegetables.

"The introduction of pumpkin flowers to our offerings last week has garnered a positive response from the public. Peeled pumpkin flowers are sold for eight yuan per bag, while unpeeled ones are priced at seven yuan per bunch," said the stall owner.

The preparation of the pumpkin flowers entails the removal of the pistil and stem, leaving only the petals. The next step involves ingredients such as pork, tofu, and appropriate seasonings are finely chopped and combined to form the filling.

The filling is then stuffed into the pumpkin flower petals, enveloping the mixture as the stem is inserted to secure it, creating plump pumpkin flower dumplings.

To execute the cooking process, water is brought to a boil in a pot, whereupon the pumpkin flower dumplings are submerged and left to simmer for 10 minutes. At this point, the fragrance of the pumpkin flowers and the filling blend together, permeating the entire kitchen and evoking an appetizing sensation.
