E-commerce shopping festival in Hechi brings in 120 million yuan
The month-long e-commerce shopping festival in Hechi city has recently come to a close, according to the municipal Commercial Affairs Bureau.
The total trade volume at the festival was 120 million yuan ($18.83 million), with online trade volume reaching 98 million yuan and offline trade volume reaching 22 million yuan.
During the event, Hechi city shed a spotlight on its longevity brands and opened up new markets online. Various promotional activities were held on renowned e-commerce platforms including JD.com, Taobao and nearly 100 websites for counties and districts in Hechi. The sales volume for many companies grew significantly during the event.
The government strongly encourages cooperation between e-commerce platforms and local cooperatives in order to facilitate business and reduce poverty. Twelve e-commerce enterprises signed contracts with local cooperatives to sell products such as edible mushrooms, providing jobs to more than 600 rural residents from low-income families.
