The 2019 International Pathology Summit and the annual meeting of the pathology branch of the Zhanjiang Medical Association were held in Zhanjiang, inviting experts at home and abroad in the field of pathology for academic sharing.

More than 200 relevant medical staff in pathology took part in the summit, which was sponsored by the Zhanjiang Medical Association and the Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Medical University.

The summit was a high-level pathology academic event, with renowned pathologists and medical biologists from home and abroad giving 15 lectures, covering topics related to clinical pathological diagnosis, basic research, humanities and pathology, as well as remote pathology. It effectively promoted the academic exchanges of the participants and the development of pathology in the city.

In addition, the awarding ceremony of the Regional Pathology Specialist Alliance, the general meeting of the pathology branch of Zhanjiang Medical Association, and the exchange meeting of remote pathology diagnosis were also carried out.

Pathological diagnosis is the "gold standard" for the diagnosis of diseases, especially tumor diseases. At present, the field of medicine has entered the era of precision medicine, with pathology serving as its foundation. The summit aimed to promote the construction of pathology in Zhanjiang and improve the level of accurate diagnosis of diseases.
