China's Diplomacy in the New Era
Zhang Xin meets with chair of China-Britain Business Council

Zhang Xin, vice-governor of Guangdong province, met with a delegation led by Sherard Cowper-Coles, chair of the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), in Guangzhou on November 21.

Zhang said that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) is one of the most attractive destinations for foreign investment worldwide. He noted that by pursuing high-level reform and greater openness, Guangdong aims to drive high-quality development, creating broader opportunities for British businesses to thrive in the GBA. Zhang expressed a strong willingness to collaborate with the CBBC to promote multi-sector cooperation, leverage complementary advantages, and achieve higher levels of mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

Cowper-Coles commended Guangdong's recent transformation and its forward-thinking development in emerging fields such as autonomous driving. He reaffirmed CBBC's commitment to acting as a bridge, encouraging more member companies to expand their investment and operations in Guangdong, thereby injecting fresh impetus into China-UK relations.
