Overview:
The Puglia Region is located in the southeastern part of Italy, covering an area of 1.94 square kilometers and home to a population of 4.01 million, making it the seventh most populous region in the country. The capital city is Bari.
Agriculture plays a significant role in the region's economy, characterized by high vegetable yields and a diverse range of products that are processed and exported to other regions and countries. Additionally, the local economy benefits from the steel and petrochemical engineering
industries, which have spurred the growth of numerous small and medium-sized enterprises.
Relations with Guangdong:
Since establishing ties, Guangdong and Puglia Region have engaged in exchanges and cooperation in areas such as environmental protection and culture. In 2011, Wang Yang, then Party secretary of Guangdong visited the region, and Nichi Vendola, then president of the Puglia Region, visited Guangdong. In 2020, Guangdong donated a batch of medical supplies to the region.
