China's Diplomacy in the New Era
Liu Chenzi meets with ROK official

Liu Chenzi, director-general of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, met with Jeon Hyung-sik, deputy governor for political affairs of Chungcheongnam-do, the Republic of Korea (ROK), in Guangzhou on September 11.

Liu noted that Chungcheongnam-do is an important sister province of Guangdong. Since the establishment of friendly relations in 2016, the two regions have engaged in cooperation across various sectors. Liu said she hoped the visit would serve as an opportunity to further strengthen pragmatic cooperation between the two provinces in areas such as high-level exchanges, industrial collaboration, regional cooperation within the Greater Bay Area, and agriculture and rural development, deepening the friendship between the two regions.

Jeon Hyung-sik praised Guangdong's remarkable achievements in reform, opening-up and modernization. He also introduced Chungcheongnam-do's development in areas such as modern agriculture and manufacturing, expressing willingness to engage in friendly exchanges with Guangdong, fostering mutual learning and win-win cooperation between the two provinces.
