Overview:
KwaZulu-Natal province is located in the eastern part of South Africa, bordered by the Indian Ocean to the east, and neighboring the Kingdom of Lesotho and the Free State province of South Africa to the west. It covers an area of 92,180 square kilometers (accounting for 7.6 percent of South Africa's total area).
The capital of the province is Pietermaritzburg. It is one of the most economically developed provinces in South Africa, boasting favorable natural conditions and abundant rainfall, making it highly developed in agriculture, including livestock, poultry farming, vegetable cultivation, and forestry. Other industries in the province include textiles, clothing, food processing, brewing, chemicals, and motorcycle assembly. The province is home to the largest pulp mill, automobile assembly plant, aluminum smelter, and power company in South Africa. KwaZulu-Natal also has a well-developed industrial, financial, and tourism sector, with comprehensive infrastructure and an extensive network of railways, highways, and air transport. The largest port in South Africa, Durban Port, and another major port, Richards Bay Port, are both located in this province.
Relations with Guangdong:
In the six years since the establishment of the friendly relations between Guangdong and KwaZulu-Natal, the two sides have engaged in exchanges and cooperation in areas such as high-level visits, trade, port development, and fisheries.
