China's Diplomacy in the New Era
Zhang Shuofu attends Republic of Congo National Day reception

Zhang Shuofu, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress, delivered a speech to mark the National Day of the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) at a reception which was hosted by the Consulate General in Guangzhou on August 26.

In his remarks, Zhang noted that although China and the Republic of Congo are separated by vast distances, the people of both nations have built strong and enduring ties. As a key province in China's cooperation with Africa, Guangdong has always placed great importance on its friendly relations with the Republic of the Congo and has actively worked to implement the significant consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, he said.

Since the opening of the Consulate General of the Republic of Congo in Guangzhou in 2014, cooperation between the two sides has grown increasingly close in areas such as trade, agriculture, infrastructure and energy resources.

Looking ahead, Zhang expressed Guangdong's willingness to continue fostering friendship and expanding cooperation with the Consulate General. He emphasized the importance of aligning development strategies, deepening exchanges and mutual learning in trade, agriculture, energy, and cultural and educational fields, and sharing the development opportunities offered by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
