Chen Guangjun, deputy director-general of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, held an in-depth discussion with Andrei Bekov, assistant to the prime minister of the Russian Republic of Bashkortostan and advisor on economic issues to the Head of State, on August 22.
Chen extended a sincere welcome to Bekov and his delegation, and provided a brief overview of Guangdong's economic and social development as well as its cooperation with Russia. Bekov expressed gratitude for Guangdong's warm reception and offered a detailed introduction to Bashkortostan's resource advantages, industrial development, and proposals for enhancing cooperation with Guangdong.
During the exchange, the two sides focused on strengthening collaboration in key areas such as trade, investment, industry, and agriculture. Chen highlighted Guangdong's strong foundation in manufacturing, technological innovation, and trade, noting that there is vast potential for cooperation between the two regions.
Bekov expressed Bashkortostan's interest in deepening cooperation in sectors like resources, agriculture, and industry to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. The discussions also touched on cultural exchanges, educational cooperation, and tourism promotion.
Representatives from Guangdong's Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Provincial Department of Commerce, and the Guangdong Association for the Promotion of Trade with Russia attended the meeting and participated in business exchanges.
