Yangjiang is a prefecture-level city founded in 1988, located in southeastern Guangdong province. It borders Maoming to the west, Yunfu to the north, Jiangmen to the east, and looks out over the South China Sea to the south.
Spanning an area of 7,966.8 square kilometers, Yangjiang administers two districts, one county and one county-level city. It also has two special zones: the Hailing Island Economic Development Experimental Zone and the Yangjiang High-tech Industrial Development Zone.

Yangjiang experiences a monsoon-influenced humid subtropical climate, with an annual average temperature of approximately 22.9 degrees Celsius.
Boasting rich natural resources, the city is home to various specialized products and seafood, among which the most famous ones are fermented soya beans, sea cucumbers, and mixed wines. It is also endowed with abundant mineral resources, with identified reserves for 41 types of minerals across 107 mining areas.
Yangjiang is renowned for its rare saline mineral hot springs, earning the title of "Hometown of Hot Springs in China" in 2008.
As one of the most popular coastal tourist cities in China, Yangjiang has won national honors as a top city for tourism, the National Garden City, the Hometown of Kites, attracting visitors from home and abroad.
The city also has a well-developed transportation network, providing convenient links to other cities and regions worldwide.
