China's Diplomacy in the New Era
Qian Hongjie meets with Myanmar consul general in Nanning

Qian Hongjie, deputy director-general of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, met with Daw Khaing Su Linn, consul general of Myanmar in Nanning on August 6.

Qian welcomed Daw Khaing Su Linn on her visit to Guangdong. She remarked that Guangdong’s cooperation with ASEAN countries has been comprehensive, in-depth, and highly productive. Since 2020, ASEAN has been Guangdong's largest trading partner for four consecutive years. Among the ten ASEAN member states, eight have already established consulates in Guangzhou.

Qian said that as friendly neighbors with a long-standing relationship, China and Myanmar share a deep-rooted bond. The Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office looks forward to close communication and cooperation with the Consulate General of Myanmar in Nanning, to further promote practical cooperation between Guangdong and Myanmar in areas such as sister cities, education, culture, and the jewelry industry.

Daw Khaing Su Linn noted that Guangdong, with its strategic location, convenient ports, and rapid economic growth, offers a full range of industries. She emphasized that the Consulate General would actively leverage opportunities from the Belt and Road Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to elevate cooperation between Myanmar and Guangdong in trade, investment and education to new heights.
