Wang Weizhong meets with delegation from US-China Business Council

Wang Weizhong, governor of Guangdong province, met with a delegation from the US-China Business Council (USCBC), in Guangzhou on July 19. The delegation was led by USCBC President Craig Allen, along with representatives from member companies.

Wang extended a warm welcome to Craig Allen and the delegation, expressing appreciation for USCBC's active efforts in promoting trade and investment cooperation between Guangdong and the United States. He noted that as one of China's largest provinces in terms of economy, population, foreign trade, and innovation, Guangdong has always prioritized economic cooperation with the United States.

Guangdong remains committed to deepening reforms, expanding high-level openness, and fostering an environment conducive to foreign trade and investment, Wang said. He expressed hope that USCBC will continue to serve as a bridge, encouraging more American companies to explore opportunities in Guangdong and the Greater Bay Area, aiming for mutually beneficial development.

Craig Allen congratulated China and Guangdong on their impressive economic and social achievements. He affirmed that USCBC and its member companies remain optimistic about China and Guangdong's future prospects. Allen stated that USCBC is dedicated to further expanding economic cooperation between the United States and Guangdong and will encourage more American enterprises to invest and grow in Guangdong and the Greater Bay Area, sharing in the region's development opportunities.

During the meeting, representatives from companies such as GE Vernova, Qualcomm, TE Connectivity, Johnson & Johnson, Dun & Bradstreet, FedEx, Honeywell, ExxonMobil, and Medtronic shared their views. Wang, along with officials from Guangdong's relevant departments, responded to the concerns and cooperation goals raised by the companies.
