Liu Chenzhi meets with UAE's consul general in Guangzhou

Liu Chenzhi, director-general of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, met with Mariam Alshamsi, consul general of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Guangzhou, Guangdong province on July 15.

Liu welcomed Alshamsi and introduced the economic and social development of Guangdong province to her. She noted that this year marks the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the UAE, a significant milestone for bilateral relations. She said the Foreign Affairs Office looks forward to close communication and collaboration with the consulate to fully implement important agreements reached by the leaders of both countries, and to strengthen practical cooperation between Guangdong and the UAE in various sectors such as energy, economy and trade, technology, culture, and local exchanges.

Alshamsi said that in recent years, exchanges and cooperation between China and the UAE have been continuously making great strides across various fields, with many Chinese enterprises investing and operating in the UAE, highlighting the enormous potential for bilateral cooperation.

She added that the consulate is willing to actively promote bilateral visits at all levels, thereby elevating friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between Guangdong and the UAE to new heights.
