In her speech, Liu spoke about the historical diplomatic relationship between China and Zambia and the role Guangdong has played on fostering friendly cooperation with African nations that's beneficial to all parties. She noted that this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Zambia, presenting an opportune moment to strengthen ties with the consulate.
Liu expressed her willingness to boost cooperation in areas such as trade and investment, cultural and educational exchanges, clean energy, and agricultural technology. She also highlighted the importance of promoting high-level delegation visits to implement the latest consensus reached by the heads of state of both countries.
Meanwhile, Shimunza also acknowledged the enduring traditional friendship between Zambia and China, which, according to him, has withstood the test of time and laid a solid foundation for cooperation between Zambia and Guangdong. He expressed his eagerness to enhance exchanges with Guangdong in areas such as local governance, poverty alleviation, renewable energy generation, and agricultural modernization. Shimunza emphasized the importance of strengthening friendly cooperation across various fields to benefit the people of both regions.
