This summer, Pingshanhu Grand Canyon in Zhangye, Gansu province, is buzzing with excitement, inviting visitors to take in its stunning landscape.

As the nearest geological wonder to an urban area in China, the canyon captivates tourists who instinctively reach for their phones to capture its unique beauty.

The scenery is mesmerizing, but the new immersive role-playing experience, "Legend of the Hexi Hero", truly brings the canyon to life.

Visitors receive a personalized identity badge and transform into martial arts heroes tasked with completing challenges at 10 locations. Along the way, 20 actors offer clues, turning the whole scenic area into part of an unfolding story.

Deeper into the canyon, the adventure intensifies. Camels rest in the shade, ready to transport guests along paths amid ancient Silk Road tunes. For the daring, off-road vehicles offer a thrilling ride over rugged terrain, with screams and engine roars echoing through the canyon. Traditional games like archery and pitch-pot promise fun for all ages.

As visitor numbers continue to increase, particularly on weekends, the scenic area is upgrading its attractions and safety protocols to ensure a memorable experience for all. It has already received over 250,000 visits in the first half of this year, and the numbers keep climbing.
