As summer unfolds, Gansu province's tourism market is heating up. Following the launch of the route from Gansu's Lanzhou to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, a new direct flight from Hong Kong has further strengthened the province's "Air Silk Road."
Hong Kong Airlines flight HX2507, carrying 170 passengers, landed at Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport on May 26, marking the inaugural flight of the new Hong Kong-Lanzhou passenger route. This is Lanzhou's second direct passenger route to Hong Kong, offering travelers more options between the two regions.
The route will operate until Oct 20, with flights every Tuesday and a travel time of approximately 3.5 hours. This new connection enhances air links between Gansu and the Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macao Greater Bay Area, fostering deeper economic, cultural, and tourism exchanges.
Hong Kong tourists expressed excitement about the convenience of direct flights, eager to explore Lanzhou's unique culture, savor its famous beef noodles, and admire the majestic Silk Road landscapes.
To ensure smooth operations for the inaugural flight, Lanzhou Customs at Zhongchuan Airport coordinated with airport authorities and the airline to establish a collaborative mechanism. They developed a dedicated clearance plan, utilizing smart customs systems for efficient health checks, baggage screening, and image verification, enhancing both security and the passenger experience.
