The first-ever Dunhuang musical theater production Ancient Sound of Dunhuang: Songs of A Golden Age premiered at the Yellow River Theater in Lanzhou on Oct 30, marking the beginning of its international tour. This production, which took nearly two years to create, represents Gansu province's innovative approach to cultural preservation.
The show uniquely blends music, dance, poetry, and traditional Chinese paintings, serving as an extension of the original Dancing Dunhuang series. With modern elements, international appeal, and market-oriented approach, the production aims to share Dunhuang's cultural heritage with a global audience.
