Xiamen unveils 77 major projects worth 77.5b yuan in 2025

Xiamen, a coastal city in East China's Fujian province, held a centralized commencement ceremony for major projects in 2025 on Jan 2. The ceremony marked the launch of 77 projects with a total of 77.5 billion yuan ($10.6 billion) in investment, with the main venue located at the Anta Global Innovation R&D Center.

These projects, spanning industry, infrastructure, and social undertakings, represent a promising start to the year.

Among them are 34 industrial ventures worth 41.9 billion yuan, focusing on new energy, materials, biopharmaceuticals and more, showcasing Xiamen's emerging industries and remarkable achievements in industrial transformation and upgrading.

The infrastructure sector, with 20 projects amounting to 9.6 billion yuan, aims to enhance supporting municipal facilities, road transportation, ecological management and more, laying a robust foundation for the city's progress.

Additionally, 23 social undertaking projects totaling 26 billion yuan encompass vital areas like schools, hospitals, urban village renovations, and public services, elevating people's quality of life.

These projects mark the start of a new chapter for Xiamen, reflecting its commitment to high-quality development and improving the lives of its residents.
