Forum highlights maritime culture development
At the 9th Global Mazu Culture Forum held on Meizhou Island in Putian, East China's Fujian province, on Nov 19, the Blue Book of China's Maritime Culture - "Annual Report on the Development of China's Maritime Culture (2024)" was officially released.
The Blue Book of China's Maritime Culture is China's first series of blue books focusing on maritime culture, providing a scholarly perspective on the academic research and industrial development in the field of maritime culture through annual reports.
The 2024 Annual Report summarizes the year's developments in China's maritime culture. It includes nine articles covering topics such as the research of China's maritime history, the maritime culture industry, and the development of the National Maritime Museum of China.
On the same day, the National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center introduced the open-source MaCOM (Mass Conservation Ocean Model) series, including version 1.0 of the Mass Conservation Ocean Model and the Finite Volume WAve Model.
He Guangshun, chief engineer of the Ministry of Natural Resources, stated that the Ministry will work with relevant departments to ensure the preservation and contemporary interpretation of traditional maritime culture represented by Mazu culture, enhance marine disaster prevention and mitigation capabilities, and continue to support and participate in international exchange platforms like the Global Mazu Culture Forum, expanding and deepening international cooperation in the marine field.
