World Maritime Equipment Conference kicks off in Fuzhou

The four-day 2024 World Maritime Equipment Conference kicked off on Nov 15 in Fuzhou, capital of East China's Fujian province, and will continue until Nov 18.

With the tagline "Carrying the dreams of humanity to new horizons", the conference focuses on key maritime equipment topics, highlighting collaborative innovation in the industry and supply chains, industry-academia-research cooperation, talent exchange, economic and trade connections, and technology transfer.

The goal is to drive the maritime equipment industry towards high-end, eco-friendly, and intelligent innovations and positioning the event as a leading global gathering in the industry.

Activities at the conference include an opening ceremony, economic and trade matchmaking sessions, keynote addresses, 11 specialized sessions, boat exhibitions, and more.

The China Marine Equipment Expo and the Marine Economy Cooperation, Innovation, and Development Conference will be held alongside the event, spotlighting cutting-edge technological advancements and industrial advancements in the global maritime equipment field through market-oriented and professional operations.

The conference will further advance the development of Fujian's maritime equipment industry, deepen connections and project collaborations within domestic and international maritime industries, and boost high-quality maritime economic growth in Fujian.

Over the past three decades, Fujian has made major strides in innovation in marine science and technology. By 2023, the marine GDP of Fujian accounted for 21.7 percent of the total provincial GDP, reaching 1.2 trillion yuan ($165.97 billion).
