The 19th Cross-Strait (Sanming) Forestry Expo and the 3rd Cross-Strait (Sanming) Rural Integration Development Forum opened in Sanming, East China's Fujian province, on Nov 6, hosting over 500 guests from Taiwan to boost forestry exchanges across the Taiwan Strait.
Sanming, serving as a modern forestry cooperation experimental zone and rural integration development pilot zone for the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, has actively explored and accumulated various experiences in the reform of the collective forest rights system. It has become a leading region, a showcase base, and a crucial platform for cross-Strait forestry cooperation.
This year's expo features the taglines "Transforming lucid waters and lush mountains into invaluable assets, focusing on cross-Strait integration" and has an exhibition area exceeding 15,000 square meters. In the Taiwan exhibition area, visitors can witness a diverse range of creative bamboo and wood products and agricultural and forestry machinery brought by local agricultural and forestry industry associations and exhibitors from Taiwan.
Over 160 Taiwan enterprises and 26 rural construction and innovation teams are currently realizing their aspirations in Sanming. Youth from both sides of the Taiwan Strait are highlighting their strengths in advancing rural vitalization, collectively exploring rural tourism resources to enhance the charm of villages.
The expo will run until Nov 10, featuring events like the 3rd Cross-Strait (Sanming) Rural Integration Development Forum and the 3rd Sports and Forest Health Conference. These activities offer a platform for cross-Strait visitors to delve into the reform and development of forestry, the latest accomplishments in cross-Strait integration, and fresh perspectives on rural vitalization.
