In 2023, Hithium Energy Storage emerged as the only unicorn company in Xiamen, achieving a valuation close to 30 billion yuan ($4.14 billion) within just over four years of establishment. The company has rapidly ascended to a prominent position in the global energy storage battery market, ranking among the top five globally and second domestically in terms of battery shipments for power storage. Additionally, Hithium Energy Storage has earned a spot in the Global Top 500 New Energy Enterprises, boasting an annual output value exceeding 10 billion yuan.

With a focus on technological innovation, manufacturing advancements, and innovative product applications, Hithium Energy Storage has paved the way for new developments in energy storage.

Technological innovation

During the 12th Energy Storage International Conference and Expo held in April, Hithium Energy Storage unveiled its groundbreaking energy storage product – the world's first kAh LDES Battery Cell, the MIC 1130Ah, which garnered significant attention from customers worldwide.

Given the rapid expansion of the energy storage industry, the development of large-capacity batteries has become pivotal for industry progress. Following two years of intensive research and development, Hithium Energy Storage successfully tackled challenges and developed the MIC 1130Ah.

MIC 1130Ah costs less while increasing volume energy density. Meanwhile, its battery life cycle up to 15,000 cycles and system life of up to 25 years greatly reduces the energy storage life cycle cost.

To date, Hithium Energy Storage has applied for more than 3,200 patents, including 1,200 invention patents.

Manufacturing innovation

Hithium Energy Storage's fourth-generation high-efficiency lithium battery intelligent manufacturing line has revolutionized production processes. By introducing manufacturing execution system (MES) and integrating data collection channels, the company has achieved a 30 percent increase in manufacturing efficiency, a 26 percent enhancement in automation levels, and a 25 percent reduction in manufacturing costs. This strategic focus on manufacturing innovation has enabled Hithium Energy Storage to deliver high-quality products to customers worldwide.

As of February this year, Hithium Energy Storage's products have been applied all over the country, as well as many countries and regions around the world such as North America, Europe and South Asia, while the number of delivered projects has exceeded 200.

Application Innovation

In Chongqing's Shaoyun village, a "zero-carbon" project was built by using solar energy resources based on local topography. The solution provided by Hithium Energy Storage builds stations integrated photovoltaic power generation and energy storage, helping villagers to effectively improve the quality of electricity consumption and economic benefits.

In April this year, Hithium Energy Storage collaborated with the "Sinno-Africa Community Action Network on Sustainable Development" to unveil a public welfare initiative supporting Nigeria. Over the next three years, Hithium Energy Storage will initiate renewable energy entrepreneurship projects for young individuals in Nigeria. The company aims to cultivate a cadre of local talent equipped with energy storage expertise, energy infrastructure operation skills, and maintenance technology.
